How do I resolve the message, "There are too many QuickTabs already open. Close some and try again."?

To close a QuickTab simply close the associated feature. Click the exit button (x) in the immediate upper right hand corner of any feature. (Note: Don't Click the exit button in the far upper right- that closes Quicken.) If you want to close all your open features and QuickTabs at once, right-click on any Quick Tab. From the pop-up menu choose close all Quick Tabs".

QuickTabs appear on the list on the right edge of the Quicken window. Every time you open a new window, another QuickTab is added to the list. There are several reasons why you may get the message about too many QuickTabs open.

• You can have a maximum of forty (40) QuickTabs open. If this is the case, close windows using one of the following methods:
  1. Click the X just to the left of the QuickTabs to close individual windows.
  2. Right-click the QuickTabs and select Close: [QuickTab] to close individual windows
  3. Right-click a QuickTab and select Close all QuickTabs to close all open windows except the centres.
• If there are only a few QuickTabs open, the computer may be low on system resources. Exit Quicken and all other running programs, then shut down and restart your computer to refresh the system resources.
• If you receive this message when you attempt to start Quicken, and the program does not seem to open, even though it appears in the Taskbar, Windows may have lost track of the Quicken window size or position.
  • Right-click Quicken on the Taskbar and select Move from the context menu.
  • Use the arrow keys (up, down, left, and right) until you see the Quicken window or its outline appear on screen. It may be as small as a desktop icon.
  • Resize the window by dragging the edges outward.
  • To verify that the window was resized properly, exit Quicken and restart it.

Note: You cannot resolve this issue by clearing the check box Show QuickTabs in the Quicken Program Options window or by minimizing QuickTabs.
