How do I convert my data from Quicken 2-6 for Windows to Quicken 98 for Windows?

When you first start Quicken 98 for Windows, it looks for the last Quicken data file you used and walksyou through converting it.

To update additional files from Quicken for Windows 2-6:

1. From the File menu, choose Open.


2. In the File Name box, type in the name of the file, and click OK. Quicken displays a message which tells you that your files are about to be converted.


3. Click Yes to continue.

Note: When you update a file, you are no longer able to use it in the previous version of Quicken. As a safeguard, Quicken automatically backs up your data files. If ever needed again, you can find them in the \QW5FILES or \QW6FILES subdirectory (if Quicken 5 or 6 for Windows files) or in the \OLDFILES directory (for all other versions of Quicken). The \QW5FILES, \QW6FILES, or \OLDFILES directory is located within the directory in which you installed Quicken.
