Quicken 98Back

Error Message 1513, What to do.

If you receive this error message (Error 1513) when trying to Update Quicken 98 it means that Quicken is having trouble activating the automatic download of product updates. There are two solutions to this problem:

Either phone our sales line on 0800 585 058 and ask for an update disk for 
Quicken 98 or you will need to amend some script within the QUICKEN.INI file. 
  

To amend the Quicken.ini:
-Save a copy of the Quicken.ini. 
-Click on Start (Win95) or File (Win3.1X) then Run and type in Quicken.ini, then click on OK.  
-The Quicken.ini will then be displayed in notepad on screen.  
-Look for the title [Internet].

Once you have found the [Internet] section you can then amend the two lines of script.  The new script is shown below:

DataDownloadCgi=http://onlpatchuk.quicken.com/bin/onlb/datadld2.cgi 
PatchDownloadCgi=http://onlpatchuk.quicken.com/bin/onlb/datadld2.cgi

Once you have amended the two lines of script you can then close the Quicken.ini and save changes.  

What this will do is change the direction (URL) that Quicken is going to when you select the option to update Quicken 98.
