Quicken 98Back

Why don't some of my windows fit on screen?

This is because your desktop Area is not large enough to display all the information required. If your desktop area is too small then QuickBooks will not have enough room on screen to display all information required. An example of this is if the create invoices will not fit entirely on the screen and extends beyond the left and right hand side of your screen. To resolve this you will need to change the display settings as follows:

  1. To view the display settings select Start from the Control Bar, select Settings and then Control Panel.
  2. In the Control Panel double click on the icon Display.
  3. Once in the Display Properties box select Settings from the tabs at the top.
  4. Under the section of Desktop Area your current setting will be displayed, QuickBooks and Quicken have a minimum requirement of 800 by 600 and if these requirements are not met then it will not be viewed correctly on screen.
To adjust these settings simply move the scroll arrow left or right and you can see them change. Some older PCs will not be able to manage this resolution. If in doubt consult your PC manual.

Font Size

  1. Another possible cause is the Display Font size. Windows will allow you to select Large or Small fonts. You will need to ensure that your PC is set to Small fonts
  2. Follow steps 1 to 3 above so that you are in the Display Settings window. Change the Setting Font Size to small fonts.
Once both the font size and Display Settings are set correctly then you will find that the windows in QuickBooks will display correctly.
