Problems experienced with MSN after installing Quicken 98.

Some people have experienced problems using Microsoft Network after having installed Quicken 98. The problem lies with a conflict between MSN and Internet Explorer, which may be installed with Quicken 98.

In order to rectify the problem you need to remove and re-install all three applications.

  • Un-install Quicken 98. You will find an un-install icon in your Quicken Program File.
  • Un-install Internet Explorer by selecting this application in Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel.
  • Re-install your MSN software.
  • Re-install Quicken 98, but instead of selecting a standard install, choose to do a custom installation and untick the boxes which relate to any version of Internet Explorer. i.e. only install Quicken 98 and Quicken Home Inventory (Quicken 98 Deluxe only)
