There have been a number of changes in Quicken `98s multi-currency features recently. Firstly there has been some changes in which currencies Quicken can download from the internet.
You can download any of the currencies on the following table as long as you set up the currency correctly in Quicken.
To set up a New Currency in Quicken.
In Quicken select »Lists« from the Menu Bar and then select »Currency List«
Select the »New« Button from the top of the list.
Fill in the following fields correctly,
Currency Name - Name of Currency Required
- Currency Symbol - Symbol for currency EG £, $, DM etc
- Currency Code - Code that allows the currency to be download, Confirm code with list below
- Shortcut Letter -If you want frequently use this currency. See help on using multi-currency in Quicken for more information on how this works.
Select »OK«. You can enter a “amt per £” or “£ per amt” if you are not going to be downloading the share price from the internet.
Recently three currencies have been removed the currency price download service. These are the Korean Won, Turkish Lira and the Taiwan Dollar. To stop these generating error messages when performing the currency download you can either delete these currencies or tick the box
“Do not Display this Message Again” (This appears on the message itself).
Your best option is tick the box as above but to delete a currency follow these instructions.
In Quicken select »Lists« from the Menu Bar and then select »Currency List«.
Highlight the currency you no longer require and select the »Delete« button from the top of the list.
There are several new currencies available for price download at the moment.
