How can I convert my QuickInvoice data into Quicken 98?

Since Quicken Deluxe does not automatically convert your QuickInvoice item and customer lists to the new format, we have provided a utility program called QuickInvoice Export (QIExport). The QIExport utility will quickly and easily transfer your customer and item lists from QuickInvoice into Quicken Deluxe 98. The items and customers are then ready for use with the new Quicken invoicing feature.

The QIExport utility can be downloaded and installed in just a few minutes. Follow this procedure

1. Install (or have installed) Quicken Deluxe 98 on your computer.

2. Download the appropriate QIExport utility: CONVERT.EXE (1,3 MB)

   Click here to start downloading CONVERT.EXE

3. Please notice the folder (directory) to which you will download the CONVERT.EXE.

4. After the download has been finished open the folder (directory), into which you have downloaded the CONVERT.EXE

5. Double-click on the CONVERT.EXE

6. Click the button >>Unzip<< in the Win-Zip self extractor window.

7. The files will be extracted to a new folder QISETUP (If you do not can see this folder directly after unzipping the convert.exe, please refresh the explorer view)

8. Run the QIExport utility installer:
   
   1. In Windows 3.x, double-click file SETUP.EXE, or choose Run from the File menu in Program Manager and type the path and the file name on the run line. (i.e. C:\QISETUP\SETUP.EXE)
      
   2. In Windows 95, double-click file SETUP.EXE, or choose Run on the Start menu and type the path and the file name on the run line.
      (i.e. C:\QISETUP\SETUP.EXE)

9. The QIExport utility is now installed and ready to be used for exporting your QuickInvoice data into the Quicken Deluxe 98 program

 

To export your QuickInvoice lists to Quicken Deluxe 98, follow this procedure:

1. Close Quicken if it is open.

2. Double-click the QIExport.exe utility program, which was added to the program group Quicken 98.

3. Enter the name of the Quicken Deluxe 98 file where you want the QuickInvoice data to be imported, and click Start.

4. Your QuickInvoice item list will now be transferred from your QuickInvoice file to the Quicken Deluxe 98 file you specified. Your customer list will be transferred to Quicken's Memorized Transaction List.

5. Close QIExport.

6. Open Quicken Deluxe 98. Your invoice transactions entered with QuickInvoice are in their original asset type register in the new Quicken Deluxe 98 file format. You can view these transactions in their original register as before. However, because they are in an asset type account, they can't be viewed in the new invoice format. 7.New invoices entered with the Deluxe invoicing feature will appear in the new Invoices account register. You can select both your QuickInvoice customers and items from the appropriate dropdown lists

Removing the QuickInvoice Exporter:

After running QIExport, you may choose to remove it from your system. If so, open the Quicken 98 program group and select QuickInvoice Exporter - uninstall. Also delete the folder QISETUP, and the file CONVERT.EXE on your PC.
