The following describes how customer information is recorded in Quicken Deluxe 98 when you export the Customer List from QuickInvoice using the QuickInvoice Export (QIExport) utility program.
Memorised Transaction List
QIExport transfers the information contained in the Name and Address on Invoice field
from QuickInvoice to Quickens memorised transaction list; the Customer Name or ID
becomes the Customer/Payee. When you select the customers name in Quickens
invoice form, the address automatically displays in the Bill To field. This QuickFill
option must be turned on. To do this:
- Point to Options on the Edit menu and choose Register. This opens the Register
Options window.
- In the Register Options window, click the QuickFill tab.
- On the QuickFill tab page, put a checkmark in the Recall Memorised Transactions box.
If the customer name exists in Quickens memorised transaction list, but there is
no address information, QIExport adds the address to the list. If the customer name exists
in the memorised transaction list and there is an address associated with that customer,
QIExport does not update the existing address with the QuickInvoice address.
Now, when you create a new invoice in Quicken, you can select the customer from the
Customer drop-down list and Quicken automatically displays the address in the Bill To
field.
If the address does not appear correctly when you select a customer, correct the
information in the Bill To field. Quicken retains the changes when you record the invoice,
and displays the correct address in subsequent invoices.
