This error message usually appears when you are storing and accessing your data from the floppy drive. So this message means that the floppy disk doesn't have enough room on it to work with your data.
To solve this problem you need to copy the file from the floppy drive to the hardrive. To do this, follow the steps below:
- Click on start, from the taskbar (In Win95 or File in Program Manager) and then Select run. Type in WINFILE and click on OK.
- This should bring up File manager. Click on the A: drive icon to bring up a list of files on the floppy drive.
- Select FILE from the toolbar. Now click on SELECT FILES.
- Now press SELECT and then CLOSE. You should now see that all of the files on the A:\ have been highlighted.
- Click on FILE again and choose COPY.
- You should already have the FROM box filled in. In the TO box, type the destination directory, i.e. C:\Quickenw (this is the default hardrive directory Quicken is installed on. If you have installed Quicken to a different directory enter in that directory name).
- Click on OK.
Now you will have the file on the hardrive, so it is time to restore the file:
- Open up Quicken and select FILE, and then RESTORE, From the toolbar at the top of the screen.
- Change the LOOK IN box to read the C:\ drive. In the box underneath select your data file and click on OK.
