After Super Validating a file, why does the file name change?

Possible Cause: The file name will change if Norton Utilities is enabled. If Super Validating a file with Norton Utilities active, the file name will convert to a DOS 8.3 format. For example, the file Quickendata.qdf will change to Quicke~1.qdf.

To change the file name back to the original name:

• Perform a search for the file that has the DOS 8.3 file name.
• From the Quicken File menu, choose File Operations, and then choose Rename to rename the file.

To prevent this issue from occurring in the future, Norton Utilities should be disabled before you Super Validate your data file.
