Quicken 2002, XG, 2004Back

How do I change the number of automatic file backup copies Quicken stores on the hard disk?

Every seven days, Quicken automatically creates a new backup file without overwriting existing backups. It continues to do this until it creates the maximum number of backups that you specified.

To change the maximum number of backups stored on your hard disk:

  • From the Quicken Edit menu, choose Preferences, and then choose Quicken Program.
  • Click the General tab.
  • Enter a number between 1 and 9 (inclusive) in the Maximum number of backup copies field.
    • If hard disk space is limited, choose a lower number.
    • If you want access to multiple backups (as insurance against data corruption, for example), choose a higher number.
  • Click OK. This change will take effect the next time Quicken is started.
