Why is my balance sheet incorrect when I exclude unrealized gains?

Background: The balance sheet in Quicken is preset to include unrealized gains. If the Include Unrealized Gains checkbox is cleared in the Customize Balance Sheet window, the customized report may display account balances that are inconsistent with the account balances in other areas of Quicken.

Choose Contents from the Quicken Help menu.

Click the Index tab.

Type gains and losses, and then press Enter. This opens another window from which you can select related topics to display.
