How do I install Quicken?
Solution: To install Quicken:
Close all programs that are running, and restart the computer.
Turn off all virus protection, screen saver and other programs that run in the operating system's background. (These programs will automatically open when the computer is restarted.) To close these programs:
Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Close Program window.
In the Close Program window, select (highlight) one item, and then click the End Task button. This will close the selected program.
Repeat this procedure until as many programs as possible are closed.
Do not close the Explorer program or Systray, if it appears. Close the MSWheel program, all virus protection, screen saver and firewall programs. Do not close any program that causes the computer to restart.
Windows 2000 Users:
Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, choose Task List, and then the Applications tab.
Select (highlight) one item, and then click the End Task button.
Repeat this procedure until as many programs as possible are closed.
Do not close the Explorer program or Systray, if it appears. Close the MSWheel program, all virus protection, screen saver and firewall programs. Do not close any program that causes the computer to restart.
Insert the Quicken program compact disc in the CD-ROM drive.
When the compact disc is inserted in the drive, Windows automatically runs the Quicken Installation program. If the installation program does not automatically run:
From the Windows Start button, select Settings, and then choose Control Panel.
Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. This opens the Add/Remove Programs Properties window.
In the Add/Remove Programs Properties window, click the Install button.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the Quicken program installation.
