Why do I have missing categories from my budget?

Possible Cause: Categories may be missing from your budget for several reasons. To determine the cause, check the following:

  • Verify which budget you are viewing, if you have multiple budgets. The category may not be used for this particular budget.
  • The category may have been inadvertently deleted from the Category List.
  • If you clicked the Clear 0 amounts button in this budget you will need to manually add it.

From the Options drop-down list, verify the current view. If you have chosen to view the budget by Separate View or Income/Expense View, the categories you are looking for may be within another view.

Click the Choose categories button at the bottom left to verify which categories are selected for this budget. If you would like to show an additional category:

  • Place your pointer to the left of the category you want to add, and then click to add a checkmark.
  • Click OK.

To add a category to the Choose Categories list:

  • From the Quicken Tools menu, choose Category List.
  • Click the New button.
  • Enter the new category information in the applicable fields, and then click OK.

When you return to the budget, the new category will appear under the Category/Account list.
