How do I resolve the following warning message, which occurs when attempting to print?

Intuit Printer Library: Could not open printer. Check your printer selection. HP Deskjet 680c, 682c, or 870cse." "Possible Cause: This warning message may be caused by a communications issue between certain printer drivers and Microsoft Windows. This message has been known to occur when using the following Hewlett-Packard Company (HP) DeskJet printer models:

To resolve this issue:

  • From the Quicken File menu, choose Printer Setup, and then choose the form that you are trying to print.
  • Make sure that all selections and settings in the Printer Setup window are correct, especially the selection in the Printer drop-down list.
  • If all information is correct, click Cancel and proceed to Step 4. Otherwise, click OK after making the necessary corrections, and then try printing again.
  • If the message persists, exit Quicken.
  • Click the Start button on the Windows taskbar, choose Settings, and then choose Printers.
  • Right-click your printer and choose Properties.
  • Click the Advanced tab, clear the Enable advanced printing features checkbox, and then click OK. Restart Quicken and try printing again.
  • If the message persists, repeat Steps 4 and 5.
  • Double-click Add Printer and proceed through the Add Printer wizard until you reach the window that asks for the printer manufacturer and model.
  • Select the manufacturer HP, and then select the printer HP DeskJet 550C (or any other HP DeskJet 500 series printer). Follow the onscreen directions in the wizard to finish adding the printer.
  • Restart Quicken. From the File menu, choose Printer Setup, and then choose the form that you are trying to print.
  • Select the printer you added in Step 10 from the Printer drop-down list, and then click OK.
